R-16-03 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A DEED OF <br />EASEMENT TO VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY, DB/A DOMINION <br />VIRGINIA POWER ON PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH AND <br />HAVING A STREET ADDRESS OF 234 MAYFLOWER ROAD FOR THE PURPOSE <br />OF INSTALLING AND MAINTAINING SUB-SURFACE ELECTRICAL FACILITIES. <br />WHEREAS, Virginia Electric and Power Company d/b/a Dominion Virginia Power has <br />requested an easement on certain property owned by the City of Portsmouth and having a street <br />address of 234 Mayflower Road (and more particularly described as Parcel 23'1 as shown on that <br />certain plat entitled "Replat of Lots 230 & 231, Plat of Section 3 Mayflower Park, Portsmouth, <br />Virginia" dated April 4, 1960 and recorded in the Portsmouth Circuit Court Clerk's Office at <br />Deed Book 342 Page 453); and <br />WHEREAS, the easement is necessary for the installation and maintenance of sub- <br />surface electrical facilities supplying power to the Mayflower Park neighborhood; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Deed of Easement to Virginia <br />Electric and Power Company d/b/a Dominion Virginia Power, and to take all other steps <br />necessary to grant the requested easement. <br />ADOPTED at a meeting of the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia held on <br />February 9, 2016. <br />
