R-16-11 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A DEED <br />AND OTHER DOCUMENTS AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO CONVEY 1525 <br />PORTSMOUTH BOULEVARD (TAX PARCEL 0109-0120) TO THE ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA. <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the City <br />Manager be, and hereby is, authorized to execute such deeds or other documents as may be <br />necessary to convey 1525 Portsmouth Boulevard (Tax Parce10109-0120) to the Economic <br />Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, said property being generally <br />described as follows: <br />ALL THAT certain lot of land, with its appurtenances, situate in <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, on the south side of Gosport or <br />Old Key Road, between Beach (formerly B) and Lansing (formerly <br />C) Streets, and being a part of lot numbers six hundred and seven <br />(607) and six hundred eight (608) on the plat of the South <br />Portsmouth Land and Improvement Company, recorded in the <br />Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of Norfolk County in Map <br />Book 2, pages 58 and 59, and bounded and described as follows, <br />to-wit: Beginning at the northwest corner of the lot of land <br />formerly owned by A. J. Phillips, which fronts on Highland <br />Avenue, which said corner is one hundred and ninety-three (193) <br />feet east from the east side of Lansing Avenue, and sixty-six (66) <br />feet, more or less, north of the north side of Highland Avenue, at a <br />fence line; thence east along said fence line thirty-two (32) feet; <br />thence north and parallel with Lansing Avenue to the south side of <br />the old Gosport or Old Key Road; thence west along said road to <br />the line of William Whitehead; and thence south along <br />Whitehead's line and parallel with Lansing Avenue to the point of <br />beginning; it being the property conveyed to the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia by Deed of Bargain and Sale from James <br />Edward King dated December 2, 1952 and recorded in the Clerk's <br />Office of the Circuit Court for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia in <br />Deed Book 264 at Page 13. <br />ADOPTED at a meeting of the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia held on <br />March 22, 2016. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
