,~ <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A RESCUE SQUAD ASSISTANCE FUND <br />GRANT IN TI3E AMOUNT OF $99,505.50 FROM THE VIRGINIA OFFICE OF <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT <br />IN THE FY 2017 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, <br />RESCUE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES TO PURCHASE A MEDIC UNIT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Rescue Squad Assistance Fund Grant in the <br />amount of $99,505.50 from the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services and <br />appropriates said amount in the FY 2017 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue <br />and Emergency Services to purchase a medic unit. <br />3. That the grant requires a 50% match, which match was appropriated <br />previously as part of the FY 2017 Operating Budget for Fire, Rescue and Emergency <br />Services. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2017 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $99,505.50. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on December 13, 2016. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
