'~~~ . 2 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT A PRIMARY EXTENSION PROGRAM GRANT <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $178,543 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION AND TO APPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2017 <br />GENERAL FUND FOR USE BY THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT IN <br />CONNECTION WITH THE PAVING OF AIRLINE BOULEVARD FROM THE <br />CITY LINE WITH CHESAPEAKE TO KINGS GATE DRIVE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Primary Extension Program Grant in the amount <br />of $178,543 from the Virginia Department of Transportation and appropriates said funds <br />in the FY-2017 General Fund for use by the Engineering Department in connection with <br />the paving of Airline Boulevard from the City Line with Chesapeake to Kings Gate <br />Drive. <br />2. That no local cash match is required for the grant. <br />3. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2017 General Fund <br />Budget are increased by $178,543. <br />4. That the City Manager is authorized to execute the project agreement and <br />other documents memorializing the Grant in the form required by the Virginia <br />Department of Transportation. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 25, 2016. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
