,~ <br />~; ~ 2 ~1^6~ 8 5 <br />~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $284,922 FROM THE PORTSMOUTH <br />PUBLIC SCHOOLS UNASSIGNED FUND BALANCE TO THE INSTRUCTION <br />CLASSIFICATION OF THE OVERALL AND SECOND QUARTER FY 2017 <br />PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOLS GENERAL FUND BUDGET .AND TO <br />AUTHORIZE THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM THE ADMINISTRATION, <br />ATTENDANCE & HEALTH, PUPIL TRANSPORTATION, OPERATIONS & <br />MAINTENANCE AND TECHNOLOGY CLASSIFICATIONS OF THE <br />OVERALL AND SECOND QUARTER FY 2017 PPS GENERAL FUND BUDGET <br />TO INCREASE THE INSTRUCTION CLASSIFICATION BY $410,779 AND THE <br />DEBT & FUND TRANSFER CLASSIFICATION BY $68,383. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it appropriates the sum of $284,922 to the Instruction Classification <br />of the overall and Second Quarter FY 2017 Portsmouth Public Schools (PPS) General <br />Fund budget. <br />2. That the source of the appropriation is residual funding in the PPS <br />Unassigned Fund Balance which was appropriated by the City to PPS in FY 2016 but not <br />expended in FY 2016. <br />3. That it authorizes the transfer of $479,162 from the Administration, <br />Attendance & Health, Pupil Transportation, Operations & Maintenance, and Technology <br />Classifications of the overall and Second Quarter FY 2017 PPS General Fund Budget to <br />the Instruction and Debt & Fund Transfer Classifications of the overall and Second <br />Quarter FY 2017 PPS General Fund Budget, all as more particularly shown on Exhibit A <br />hereto. <br />4. That the revised overall and Second Quarter categorical funding <br />appropriations for the FY 2017 Portsmouth Public Schools General Fund Budget are as <br />shown on Exhibit A hereto <br />5.
