` g 'z AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $5,202,630 BY CLASSIFICATION TO THE OVERALL AND FIRST QUARTER FY 2017 PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOLS GENERAL FUND BUDGET. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That it appropriates the sum of $5,202,630 to the overall and First Quarter FY 2017 Portsmouth Public Schools General Fund budget, in the following amounts by classification: $1,314,866 in the Instruction classification; $417,916 in the Administration, Attendance & Health classification; $226,716 in the Pupil Transportation classification; $1,701,955 in the Operation and Maintenance classification; $1,420,647 in the Debt and Fund Transfers classification; and $120,530 in the Technology classification. 2. That the sources of the appropriations are (a) $1,605,285 in funds appropriated by the City to the FY 2016 Portsmouth Public Schools General Fund which were encumbered but not expended prior to June 30, 2016 and (b) $3,597,345 in funds appropriated by the City to the FY 2016 Portsmouth Public Schools General Fund which were neither encumbered nor expended prior to June 30, 2016. 3. That the estimated revenues and expenditures in the overall and First Quarter FY 2017 Portsmouth Public Schools General Fund operating budget are increased by $5,202,630, including $1,314,866 in the Instruction classification; $417,916 in the Administration, Attendance & Health classification; $226,716 in the Pupil Transportation classification; $1,701,955 in the Operation and Maintenance classification; $1,420,647 in the Debt and Fund Transfers classification; and $120,530 in the Technology classification. 4. That the revised overall and First Quarter categorical funding appropriations for the FY 2017 Portsmouth Public Schools General Fund Budget are as shown on Exhibit A hereto. 5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on July 26, 2016. Teste: City Clerk
