ft ~ .2C11~6-42, <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A MCKINLEY-VENTO ACT HOMELESS <br />ASSISTANCE COMPETITION .GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,593 FROM <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2015-16 GRANTS FUND FOR USE <br />BY THE DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE SERVICES IN <br />CONNECTION WITH THE SHELTER PLUS PROGRAM. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts aMcKinley-Vento Act Homeless Assistance <br />Competition Grant in the amount of $50,593 from the Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development and appropriates said funds in the FY 2015-16 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Behavioral Healthcare <br />Services in connection with the Shelter Plus Program, which provides behavioral health <br />and supportive services to chronically homeless individuals and families who have severe <br />mental illness, chronic substance use disorders, intellectual disabilities, developmental <br />disabilities, and/or HIV/AIDS and are in need of supportive housing. <br />3. That the grant requires a local in-kind match in the amount of $12,648, <br />which match is being provided through a variety of services offered by the Department of <br />Behavioral Healthcare Services. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2015-16 Grants Fund <br />are increased by $50,593. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on June 28, 2016. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
