~~'~ 2016-19 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF $194,500 IN THE <br />INSTRUCTION CLASSIFICATION OF THE OVERALL AND THIRD <br />QUARTER FY 2015-16 GRANT FUND BUDGET FOR THE PORTSMOUTH <br />PUBLIC SCHOOLS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it appropriates the sum of $194,500 in the Instruction Classification <br />of the overall and Third Quarter FY 2015-16 Portsmouth Public Schools Grant Fund <br />budget. <br />2. That the sources of the appropriation are: (1) $62,500 in funding received <br />from the Virginia Department of Education for the Virginia CyberCamp 2016 Program; <br />(2) $96,648 in funding received from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice <br />Services to fund six school safety officer positions; and (3) $35,352 of existing budgetary <br />authority in the Debt and Fund Transfers Classification of the overall and Third Quarter <br />FI' 2015-16 General Fund Budget for the Portsmouth Public Schools. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the CyberCamp 2016 <br />Funding, and that the 25% local match required as a condition of the school safety officer <br />funding is being funded from the Schools' Debt and Fund Transfers Classification as <br />noted above. <br />4. That the estimated revenues and expenditures in the Instruction <br />Classification of the overall and Third Quarter FY 2015-16 Portsmouth Public Schools <br />Grant Fund budget are increased by $194,500. <br />5. That the revised overall and Third Quarter categorical funding <br />appropriations for the FY 2015-16 Portsmouth Public Schools Grant Fund budget are as <br />shown on Exhibit A hereto. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on March 22, 2016. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
