20-80 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 25-92 OF CHAPTER 25 AND APPENDIX A OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (2006) TO ESTABLISH FEES FOR INDIVIDUAL USE OF RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AND PARTICIPATION IN ADULT CLASS PROGRAMS. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Section 25-92 of Chapter 25 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) be amended and reordained by adding new subsections 25-92(c) and 25- 92(d) to read as follows: Sec. 25-92. -Fees for use of athletic, recreational and special activity facilities. (c) For purposes of this subsection (c) and the related fees set out in Appendix A to this Code, the term youth means any person under 18 years of age, the term adult means any person between and including the ages of 18 and 64, and the term senior means any person 65 years or older. Fees for individual use of recreational facilities operated by the department of parks, recreation and leisure services and determined by the City Manager to be subject to this subsection shall be as set forth in appendix A to this Code for the following categories: (1) Adult Membership Card (annual) (2) Adult Replacement Card (3) Youth Membership Card (annual) (4) Youth Replacement Card (5) Senior Membership Card (annual) (6) Senior Replacement Card (7) Visitor Pass (one week) (8) Adult or Senior Day Pass (9) Youth Day Pass (d) For purposes of this subsection (d) and the related fees set out in Appendix A to this Code, the term adult class program means class programs primarily intended for participation by persons 18 years of age or older. Fees for multi-session adult class programs offered by the department of parks, recreation and leisure services shall be as set forth in appendix A to this Code. 2. That Appendix A of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) be amended and reordained as provided in Exhibit A hereto to establish the fees authorized by subsections 25-92(c) and 25-92(d) ordained hereinabove. 3. That this ordinance shall take effect on January 1, 2016.
