~' ~ ~ 205-71 <br />~~~ ~ *~ <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,958 FROM <br />THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NATIONAL HIGHWAY <br />TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION THROUGH THE VIRGINIA <br />HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE <br />FY 2015-16 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO <br />INCREASE USAGE OF OCCUPANT RESTRAINTS IN VEHICLES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $6,958 from the U.S. <br />Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through <br />the Virginia Highway Safety Office and appropriates said funds in the FY 2015-16 <br />Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Police Department for <br />enforcement and educational efforts to significantly increase seatbelt usage. <br />3. That an in-kind match of $3,479 is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2015-16 Grants Fund <br />are increased by $6;958. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 27, 2015. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
