R-14-06 <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION TO APPROVE AN ADDITION TO THE STREETS IN THE <br />CITY OF PORTSMOUTH FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCREASING MUNICIPAL <br />ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS TO THE CITY <br />WHEREAS, the regulations of the Virginia Department of Transportation <br />adopted pursuant to Section 33.1-41.1 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, require that the City <br />submit a request for mileage additions, deletions and changes in functional classification <br />of streets which have occurred during the fiscal year for the purpose of calculating State <br />maintenance payments; and <br />WHEREAS, the increase in mileage to Sean Sykes Avenue, described in VDOT <br />Form U-1, identified as Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof, has occurred in <br />the City of Portsmouth. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that the Virginia Department of Transportation be requested to <br />approve the mileage addition to Sean Sykes Avenue, more particularly described on the <br />aforementioned Exhibit A. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />on March 1 1, 2014. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
