'~' ~ ~.~ ; 2014-104 <br />~~~ ~ ~~ <br />,.~,.~.. <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $583,262 IN THE FY 2014-15 GENERAL <br />FUND OPERATING BUDGET FOR REDUCTIONS IN STATE AID. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the- City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby appropriates the sum of $583,262 in the FY 2014-15 General Fund <br />Operating Budget to return monies previously received from the Commonwealth of Virginia for use <br />during FY 2014-15. <br />2. That the Governor has now instituted cost-cutting measures in order to balance the <br />Commonwealth's FY 2014-15 budget by means that include the reduction in aid to localities. <br />3. That Portsmouth's share of the reduction in aid to localities is $583,262, which sum must <br />be returned to the Commonwealth by January 9, 2015. <br />4. That the source of the appropriation is the FY 2014-15 General Fund Unassigned Fund <br />Balance. <br />5. That estimated funds in the FY 2014-5 General Fund Operating Budget are increased by <br />$583,262. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on December 9, <br />2014. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
