<br />R-13-22 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING TITLE TO VARIOUS PROPERTIES OWNED <br />BY THE PORTSMOUTH PORT AND INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION IN THE <br />SUGAR HILL SECTION OF THE CITY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission ("PPIC") in past <br />_years acquired various parcels ofland in the Sugar Hill section of the City for a proposed <br />marina and waterfront development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed development is no longer viable, and the PPIC has no <br />further need for the property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns parcels of land in Sugar Hill and is <br />willing to accept ownership ofPPIC's parcels. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that it is willing to accept ownership of the subject parcels ofland <br />in Sugar Hill from the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and the City Attorney be, <br />and they hereby are, authorized to take such measures as are necessary to complete the <br />transfer of ownership from the Commission to the City. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on May 28,2013. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
