<br />R-12-36 <br /> <br />ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN <br />EASEMENT TO COLUMBIA GAS OF VIRGINIA, INC., THROUGH A PORTION OF THE <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES OPERATIONS CENTER ON MEANDER ROAD. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Columbia Gas of Virginia, Inc., ("Columbia Gas") needs to relocate a natural gas <br />main that is in conflict with proposed road improvements at Martin Luther King Boulevard and High <br />Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Columbia Gas proposes to relocate the line on Meander Road along the southern <br />edge of property owned by the City of Portsmouth and used as the Operations Center for the Department <br />of Public Utilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth, as owner of record of the subject property, must execute the <br />necessary Deed of Easement. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia <br />that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute said Deed of Easement to Columbia Gas of <br />Virginia, Inc., and take all other steps necessary to grant the requested easement. <br /> <br />2012. <br /> <br />ADOPTED at a meeting of the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia held on September 11, <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
