<br />WHEREAS, in order for the Development Agreement to be implemented, it will <br />necessary for the City to enter into a Cooperation Agreement with the Housing Authority (the <br />"Cooperation Agreement"), <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />V irginia that: <br /> <br />1. The City Council, acting for and on behalf of the City of Portsmouth, hereby finds <br />and determines that the redevelopment of Cradock High School as contemplated by the <br />Development Agreement is in the public interest, and the Housing Authority is hereby authorized <br />and requested to execute and implement the Development Agreement and to proceed with <br />redevelopment thereunder. <br /> <br />2. The City Manager, acting for and on behalf of the City, is hereby authorized and <br />directed to execute and deliver a Cooperation Agreement substantially the same as that which is <br />attached to this resolution, which shall be approved as to form and legality by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />3. The City Manager and City Attorney are further authorized and directed to give such <br />other assurances, to execute such other instruments, including without limitation a deed or deeds <br />conveying the Property and/or any other needed easements or interests to the Housing Authority, <br />and to provide additional cooperation and assistance, all as may be reasonably necessary to <br />implement the intent of this resolution and the Development Agreement, in order to bring about <br />the proper development of the Property by the Developer. <br /> <br />4. The City Manager shall from time to time provide status reports to City Council on <br />the progress of this project. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at ameeting held on <br />February 28,2012. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
