<br />OflDI NeE NO. 2012-70 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $5,200 IN THE FY 2012-13 GRANTS FUND FROM <br />GRANT FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE VIRGINIA DAM SAFETY, FLOOD <br />PREVENTION AND PROTECTION ASSISTANCE FUND FOR ENGINEERING COSTS <br />RELA TED TO A DAM BREAK STUDY FOR THE CITY'S LAKE CAHOON DAM. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it hereby appropriates the sum of $5,200 in the FY 2012-13 Grants Fund for <br />engineering related to a dam break study of the City's Lake Cahoon Dam in the City of Suffolk. <br /> <br />2. That the source of said appropriation is the anticipated release of grant funds to the <br />City for said purpose by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Virginia <br />Resources Authority who administer the Virginia Dam Safety, Flood Prevention and Protection <br />Assistance Fund. <br /> <br />3. That adoption of this ordinance shall be deemed acceptance of the grant funds and the <br />conditions for said award. <br /> <br />4. That the local match for the grant has been previously appropriated in the FY 2012-13 <br />Public Utilities Capital Improvements Fund. <br /> <br />5. That estimated revenues in the FY 2011-12 Grants Fund are increased by $5,200. <br /> <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on <br />November 27,2012. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
