<br />ORDINANCE MO_~ 011__ 6 ~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A HAZARDOUS MATERIALS P ASS- THRU FUNDS GRANT <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY <br />MANAGEMENT AND APPROPRIATING SAID SUM IN THE FY 2011-12 GRANTS FUND TO <br />BE USED FOR EQUIPMENT, TRAINING, AND ACQUIRING TECHNICAL EXPERTISE IN <br />DEALING WITH HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That it accepts a grant from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management in the <br />amount of $30,000 and appropriates said amount in the FY 2011-12 Grants Fund. <br /> <br />2. That said funds shall be used by the Portsmouth Department of Fire, Rescue, and <br />Emergency Services for training and to acquire equipment and technical expertise in dealing with <br />hazardous materials. <br /> <br />3. That no local cash match is required for award of the grant. <br /> <br />4. That estimated revenues in the FY 2011-12 Grants Fund are increased by $30,000. <br /> <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on <br />September 13,2011. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
