<br />R-11-34 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE CITY'S 201i FEDERAL LEGISLA 'fIVE AGENDA <br />PACKAGE FOR THE 112TO CONGRESS (SECOND SESSION). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the United States Congress deals with a broad range of issues that affect <br />local government both directly and indirectly; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has certain concerns that deal with both Portsmouth <br />specifically and local governments in general; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these concerns need to be made known to Portsmouth's congressional <br />delegation so that they may be transmitted for consideration by the Senate and the House of <br />Representatives. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that it endorses the attached 2012 Federal Legislative Agenda Package for <br />consideration by the the11ih Congress (Second Session) and directs that both this resolution and <br />the Council's endorsed 2012 Federal Legislative Agenda Package be forwarded to the City's <br />congressional representatives. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on <br />October 25,2011. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
