<br />ORDIN <br /> <br />E NO,,2010-19 <br />-..-. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM FUNDS PREVIOUSLY <br />ALLOCATED TO THE COMMONWEALTH'S ATTORNEY'S OFFICE ASSET <br />F'ORF'EITURE ACCOUNT THE SUM OF $60,000 IN THE FY 2009-2010 <br />GENERAL FUND FOR COMMONWEALTH'S ATTORNEY'S OFFICE FULL <br />TIME SALARIES TO OFFSET FUNDS LOST THROUGH STATE AND LOCAL <br />BUDGET CUTS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That the sum of $60,000, previously received from the Virginia <br />Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) for salary supplements, equipment <br />purchases, and office staff training in the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, is <br />appropriated in the FY 2009-2010 General Fund. <br /> <br />2. That DCJS has authorized the use of said funds, on a one-time only basis, <br />for full time personnel salaries in order to avoid the loss of employees through state and <br />local budget cuts in the current fiscal year. <br /> <br />3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on March 23,2010. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
