<br /> <br />R-09-14 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE REQUIRED <br />APPLICATIONS AND ANY OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR ECONOMIC <br />STIMULUS FUNDING FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, DRINKING <br />WATER STATE REVOLVING FUND TO BE USED FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF AGED <br />WATER MAIN INFRASTRUCTURE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has identified a source for partial funding for the <br />replacement of aged waterlines in its various projects; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Health-Office of Drinking Water provides loans and <br />grants through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund is the mechanism for distributing <br />certain funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has reviewed project planning material and found that the <br />pre-requirements have been met for submitting a funding application; <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Portsmouth City Council hereby agrees to <br />seek funding from the Office of Drinking Water for the following projects: <br /> <br />Prentis Park Waterline Replacement Projects <br /> <br />$10,000,000 <br />$ 9,500,000 <br /> <br />Lake Kilby Water Treatment Facility Raw Water Pumping Facility <br /> <br />Downtown Master Utility Plan Phase I Waterline Replacement <br /> <br />$ 2,000.000 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager immediately direct staff to <br />prepare funding applications for these projects and be authorized to sign any and all documents <br />required to accept such funding contingent upon review and concurrence with the terms of the funding <br />arrangement. <br /> <br />2009. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting on March 24, <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
