<br />ORDINANCE MO. 2 OO~ 2.. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 16 AND APPENDIX A OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (2006) BY AMENDING <br />SECTIONS 16-64 AND 16-66 AND APPENDIX A THEREOF PERTAINING TO <br />RATES FOR COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF TRASH AND REFUSE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That Sections 16-64 and 16-66 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia (2006) be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 16-64. Monthly rates for collection and disposal of trash and garbage; <br />generally. <br /> <br />The service charge for the collection and disposal of trash and garbage shall be as <br />set out in Appendix A to this Code. The charges imposed under this section shall be <br />billed with the statement rendered for water and sewer charges. <br /> <br />Sec. 16-66. Rates for automated containers in the downtown commercial business <br />district. <br /> <br />(a) The downtown commercial business district shall be defined as the area <br />north of Interstate 264, south of London Boulevard, east of Elm Avenue, and west of the <br />Elizabeth River's Southern Branch. <br /> <br />(b) Where garbage and refuse are stored in automated 105-gallon refuse <br />containers in the downtown commercial business district, the monthly rate charged for <br />service shall be as set out in Appendix A to this Code. <br /> <br />(c) For each additional pick-up, a charge shall be assessed, as set out in <br />Appendix A to this Code <br /> <br />2. That Appendix A to the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) <br />be amended and reordained as follows: <br /> <br />CHAPTER 16.
