<br />R-OB-32 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA <br />CONDITIONALL Y APPROVING THE PROPOSED LOCATION OF THE ROUTE 58- <br />MARTIN LUTHER KING (MLK) FREEWAY EXTENSION PROJECT 0058-965-107, <br />PlOt (UPC 77245) IN THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a Location Public Hearing was conducted on May 14, 2008, in the <br /> <br />City of Portsmouth by representatives of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of <br /> <br />Transportation after due and proper notice for the purpose of considering the proposed location <br /> <br />of the Route 58 - Martin Luther King (MLK) Freeway Extension Project 0058-965-107, PIOl <br /> <br />(UPC 77245) in the City of Portsmouth, at which hearing aerial photographs, drawings and other <br /> <br />pertinent information were made available for public inspection in accordance with state and <br /> <br />federal requirements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, all persons and parties in attendance were afforded full opportunity to <br /> <br />participate in said public hearing; and <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, representatives of the City of Portsmouth were present and participated in <br /> <br />said hearing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council had previously requested the Virginia Department of <br /> <br />Transportation to program this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council continues to desire this project, provided certain legitimate <br /> <br />citizen concerns are respected by the Virginia Department of Transportation. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth that <br /> <br />it hereby approves the location of the proposed project as presented at the Public Hearing; <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Portsmouth looks <br /> <br />jl)rv/~lrd to its c:mtinued partnership with the Department of Transportation; <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that as this project continues, the Council of the City <br />
