<br />URDlNANCE HO. 2007-2~. <br /> <br />I" <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,401.99 <br />FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE-BUREAU OF JUSTICE <br />ASSISTANCE AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2006-2007 <br />GRANTS FUND BUDGET TO DEFRAY A PORTION OF THE COST <br />EXPENDED FOR THE PURCHASE OF BULLETPROOF VESTS FOR THE <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT AND SHERIFF'S OFFICE PERSONNEL WORKING <br />ON THE STREETS. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br />I. That the City of Portsmouth accepts $2,401.99 in funds from the U.S. <br />Department of Justice-Bureau of Justice Assistance to reimburse 50% of the cost of <br />bulletproof proof vests for police and Sheriffs Department personnel assigned to the <br />streets. <br /> <br />2. That estimated revenue in the FY 2006-2007 Grants Fund budget is <br />increased by $2,401.99, and said amount is appropriated in the FY 2006-2007 Grants <br />Fund Budget. <br /> <br />3. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held <br />on February 13,2007. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br />
