<br />R-06-30 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 38 TO THE CRAWFORD <br />CONSERV A nON AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE CRAWFORD URBAN <br />RENEWAL PROJECT. <br /> <br />WHEREAS. this Council by resolution adopted August I, 1967, approved a <br />Conservation and Redevelopment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, Portsmouth, <br />Virginia (Plan) and has approved subsequent amendments thereto; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. there has been presented to this body for consideration and approval a copy <br />of an amended Plan (Amendment 38) consisting of 13 pages and four exhibits for the project <br />area: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. Amendment No, 38 proposes to designate additional properties as "To Be <br />Acquired"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed by the <br />prov isions of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, including <br />thosc prohibiting discrimination bccause of race, age. color, religion, familial status, handicap, <br />sex ur natiunal origin: and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in the judgment of this Council, it is in the interest uf the City and its <br />inhabitants that the said Amendment be approved, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth. <br />Virginia: <br /> <br />I, That regarding Amendment No, 38, it is hereby found: <br /> <br />(a) That the objectives of the Crawford Urban Renewal Project. Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, can be better achieved by the adoption of said Amendment to the <br />Plan, <br /> <br />(b) That Amendment No, 38 meets the requirements of a plan for an urban <br />rcnewal project pursuant to Chapter I of Title 36 of the Code of Virginia. <br />1950, as amended, <br />
