<br />ORDItWCE 10.2006-42 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 35 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTION 35-7.1(c) <br />THEREOF PERTAINING TO PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX RELIEF FOR <br />QUALIFYING MOTOR VEHICLES. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth. Virginia: <br /> <br />1. That Section 35-7.1 (c) of the Code of the City of Portsmouth. Virginia <br />(1988) be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 35-7.1 Tax relief for qualifying motor vehicles. <br /> <br />(c) Allocation of reli~r among taxpayers. Relief with respect to qualifying <br />vehicles shall be provided at a percentage, annually fixed and applied to the first $20,000 <br />in value of each such qualifying vehicle that is estimated to exhaust all available PPTRA <br />rclieffrom the Commonwealth. <br /> <br />2. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth.
