R-04-19 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE ANALYSIS OF IMPEDIMENTS TO FAIR <br />HOUSING FROM THE HAMPTON ROADS COMMUNITY HOUSING <br />RESOURCE BOARD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of Fair Housing is to create equal housing opportunities <br />for all persons living in America by administering laws that prohibit discrimination in <br />housing; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Hampton Roads Community Housing Resource Board, <br />composed of representatives from the cities of Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Hampton, <br />Newport News, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach, participated in an "Analysis of <br />Impediments to Fair H ' " <br /> ousmg; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Analysis updates an Analysis conducted in 1997 and is a <br />requirement of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for inclfision in <br />the Portsmouth's Consolidated Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth's Consolidated Plan will address the <br />impediments cited in the AnalySis, the milestones in that process, timetables for past and <br />future activities, and the results of actions taken. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth that it hereby accepts the "Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing" from <br />the Hampton Roads Community Housing Resource Board for inclusion in the City's <br />Consolidated Plan. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED by the COuncil of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on April 13, 2004. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
