AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING A PORTION OF ANN STREET, BLAIR <br />STREET, ARMSTRONG STREET, HOLLADAY STREET, BUTLER STREET AND <br />OWENS STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has requested the closure of a portion of Ann Street, <br />Blair Street, Armstrong Street, Holladay Street, Butler Street and Owens Street as hereafter <br />described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at a meeting held on August 10, 2004, <br />recommended approval of the closure and vacation of a portion of Ann Street, Blair Street, <br />Armstrong Street, Holladay Street, Butler Street and Owens Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice of the proposed closure and vacation has been given the adjoining <br />property owners in accordance with Section 15.2-2006 of the Code of Virginia, as amended. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that a portion of Ann Street, Blair Street, Armstrong Street, Holladay Street, Butler <br />Street and Owens Street be closed and vacated as a public street and fight of way as follows: <br /> <br />ANN STREET <br /> <br /> All that portion of Ann Street beginning at the west fight of way line of Owens Street, <br />thence running west 105', more or less to a portion of Ann Street formerly closed by the Council <br />of the City of Portsmouth by Ordinance No. 1958-17. <br /> <br />BLAIR STREET <br /> <br /> All that portion of Blair Street beginning at the east fight of way line of Owens Street, <br />thence running east 348', more or less to a point 122.60' west of the west right of way line of Elm <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />ARMSTRONG STREET <br /> <br /> All that portion of Armstrong Street beginning at the south fight of way line of Blair <br />Street, thence running south 394', more or less, to its terminus point as it intersects property now <br />or formerly owned by the Tidewater Company. <br /> <br />HOLLADAY STREET <br /> <br /> All that portion of Holladay Street beginning at the west fight of way line of Armstrong <br />Street; thence running west 25', more or less, to property now owned by the City of Portsmouth <br />known and designated as the Oak Grove Cemetery. <br /> <br /> <br />
