t)RDIHAHCE NO. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING A PORTION OF RANDOLPH <br />STREET FROM THE WESTERN BOUNDARY OF 5Tn STREET TO THE <br />EASTERN BOUNDARY OF 7T~I STREET. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made <br />application to close a portion of Randolph Street, as hereafter described; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at a meeting held on June 3, 2003, <br />recommended approval of the closure and vacation of said portion of Randolph Street; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice of the proposed closure and vacation has been given the <br />adjoining property owners in accordance with Section 15.2-2006 of the Code of Virginia, <br />as amended. ..~ <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia that a portion of Randolph Street be closed and vacated as a public <br />street and right of way as follows: <br /> <br />RANDOLPH STREET <br /> <br /> Alt that portion of Randolph Street from the western boundary of 5th Street <br />to the eastern boundary of 7th Street; as shown on the attached exhibit. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the applicant, Portsmouth Redevelopment <br />and Housing Authority, shall obtain an environmental compliance excavation permit <br />through the City's Engineering and Public Works Department prior to soil disturbance in <br />the street closure area. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virgima, at a meeting held on <br />June 10, 2003. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
