R-03-03 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH. (CP-02-03) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia has adopted a <br />Comprehensive Plan, (CP-89-1), for the physical development of the territory within the <br />City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, after notice and public hearing, as <br />required by Chapter 22 of Title 15.2 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, has <br />recommended that: <br /> <br /> 1. Chapter 4 of the Comprehensive Plan and Exhibits 4-5 (Development <br /> Strategy) and 4-7 (General Land Use Plan Map) contained therein be amended to <br /> show that a portion of the River Pointe development east of River Pointe Parkway <br /> will become a residential area consisting of medium density residential <br /> development and single family residential development as shown on Exhibits A <br /> and B. attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> <br /> 2. Chapter 8 (Tax Base and Jobs) of the Comprehensive Plan and Exhibit 8-1 <br /> (Major Development Opportunities) contained therein be amended to show a <br /> change from planned office park development of the area east of River Pointe <br /> Parkway to a mixed use development of commemial and residential uses. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia has held a <br />public hearing with notice as required by law. and has considered the proposed <br />amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Portsmouth. Virginia. <br />designated CP-89-1 be and hereby is amended as recommended by the Planning <br />Commission and set out above. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED by Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on <br />January 14, 2003. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
