ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z-02-01 <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council ofthe City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That the portion of the zoning map attached to and made a part of the City <br />of Portsmouth Zoning Ordinance which now zones as Residential RS-150, the property <br />described in Petition for Zoning Amendment Number Z-02-01, is hereby amended and <br />changed so as to show said property zoned as Commercial C-2-K (Conditional), and that <br />said property is hereby zoned as Commercial C-2-K (Conditional). <br /> <br /> 2. That the property affected by this ordinance by being zoned from <br />Residential RS-150 to Commercial C-2-K (Conditional) is described as follows: <br /> <br /> Z-02-O1 <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point that is 120' east of the intersection of <br /> the east right-of-way line of Kenny Lane and the <br /> Portsmouth/Chesapeake city line, thence east 200'+/- to a <br /> point, thence north 216'+/- to a point, thence west 201.2'+/- <br /> to a point, thence south 216'+/- to the point of beginning. <br /> <br /> 3. That the following conditions, proffered by the applicant, shall <br />apply to the subject property: <br /> <br /> (a) C-2-K zoning is sought for approximately a one-acre portion of the <br /> entire parcel owned by the applicant and located in the City of <br /> Portsmouth. The applicant will not seek a rezoning from <br /> Residential RS-150 for the remaining 1.3 acres of the site. <br /> <br /> (b) All ingress and egress will be from Western Branch Boulevard <br /> through the existing hotel site in Chesapeake. <br /> <br /> (c) The proposed hotel addition will be two stories in height and will <br /> house 20 suites, an indoor swimming pool, and a fitness center. <br /> <br /> (d) Total building area will be 15,000 square feet, and the cost of <br /> construction and site improvements is estimated to be $1,200,000. <br /> <br /> (e) Landscaped buffers will be provided along all residential property <br /> lines. Buffers will be a minimum of 15 feet wide with a wooden <br /> fence six feet in height and will meet the Landscaping Group 1 <br /> requirements established in Section 40-73 of the City Code. <br /> <br /> <br />
