WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth understands the expectation of state policy <br />that the City provide an acceptable site for the new campus, as well as the infrastructure <br />and development of the Campus site at no cost to the Commonwealth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Tidewater Community College intends to seek funding for <br />construction of the new campus through the state's capital outlay program for higher <br />education and by leveraging the value of the land of the current campus site; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, that the City expresses its interest and desire in having Tidewater Community <br />College locate a new campus at Victory Crossing, and it directs the City Manager and his <br />Staff to pursue with the professional staff of Tidewater Community College the cost and <br />feasibility of so doing, and to make a report, which includes his professional <br />recommendations, back to the Council at the earliest possible opportunity. <br /> <br />It is further RESOLVED that an attested copy of this resolution shall be delivered by the <br />City Clerk to the Tidewater Community College Board. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on <br />January 15, 2002. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
