AN OI~OINANCE TO I~OVIDE FOR '~ ACQUISITI~ OF ~Y F~ USE ~ ~ CI~ F~ WA~B~O~S A~ I/HEREAS, the City of Portsamouth has found it to be necessary to enlarge its water~rks system to meet the ds~ands of the area served by it and is in the pro- cess of conatructing certain additional dams and reservoirs to provide much needed raw water storage; and ~F~S, the City of Portsm~th has not been able to l~rchame certain property n~es~ to this proj~t after l~gthy negotiati~s ~d adv~c~ent of the ~rk will be d~ay~ ~s~bly if the ~id p~p~ty is not ~de available as soon as possi~e; NO~ 'iUl/EEFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia, that the City Attorney is directed to institute eminent de, hain proceedings against the parcel of property hereinafter described, in accordance with and pur- suant 1~ SectiOn 23-f of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth (chapter 258 of the Acts of Ameembly of 1958), and that the ~ hereinafter specified with respect to said parcel be d~posited to the credit of the court as provided by law: The land to be acquired in fee simple, its owner, the approx/mmte area thereof, and the $/aeunt to be paid into court are as follows: ]5xat certain parcel of land situate in Nansemond County, Virginia, more par- ticularly described as follows: "Be~i~mhing at a pOint on the Western edge of Smith Creek, and on the Eley- Harry property line; thence, the following courses and distances: (Read left to right across page.)
