AN ORDINANCE TO A~D .~D ~wZE-ORDAIN SECTIONS 6-16 AND 6-19 <br /> OF ~ CODE OF THE CITY OF PORT~OUTH, VIRGINIA, 1951, <br /> LATING TO PRICES FOR LOTS IN CITY CE~ZfERIES Al%~D TO CHARGES <br /> FOR OPENING GP~VES. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ Vir~inia~ <br />Sections 6-16 and 6-19 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1951, <br />be amended ~nd re-ordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />that <br /> <br />Sec. 6-I6. Prices for lots and spaces; care of lots and spaces. <br /> <br /> The lots or other spaces in all of the city cemeteries, including the <br />perpetual upkeep therefor, hereafter sold in accordance with ordinances of the <br />city, shall be sold according To the following schedule of prices: <br /> <br />V~ole lots (12 graves) .............. $600.00 <br />Whole lets (8 graves) ............... $400°00 <br />Half lots (6 graves) ................ $300.00 <br />Half lots (4 graves) ................ ~00.00 <br />Single graves ....................... $ 50~O0 <br />Baby graves ......................... $ 20.00 <br /> <br /> The city shall keep and maintain perpetually, in a neat and proper con- <br />dition, each lot hereafter sold in the city cemeteries, and keep the same in good <br />order, free from weeds and undergrowth, and properly turfed, and the monuments <br />and stones upright, so long as the same continue intact, and the purchasers of <br />such lots shall not be required to pay to the city any further sum for their <br />upkeep. <br /> <br />Sec. 6-19, Prices and charges for work done. <br /> <br /> The following schedule of prices is hereby established for work in the <br />several cemeteries in the city: <br /> <br />For op~n~ng graves 4 feet and under in length ...... ~20.00 <br />For opening graves over 4 feet in ter~th .......... $40.00 <br /> <br />For disinterring and reinterring bodies where <br />grave is 4 feet and ~uder in length ................ $40.00 <br /> <br />For disinterring and reinterring bodies where <br />grave is over 4 feet in length ..................... $80.00 <br /> <br /> The above fees and charges shall be paid before the work is performed <br />and a receipt shall be taken therefor~ <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Va., at a meeting <br />held on October 13th~ 1959. <br /> <br />Tests: <br /> <br />City Clerk. <br /> <br /> <br />
