AN ORDINANCE TO A~D .~D ~wZE-ORDAIN SECTIONS 6-16 AND 6-19 OF ~ CODE OF THE CITY OF PORT~OUTH, VIRGINIA, 1951, LATING TO PRICES FOR LOTS IN CITY CE~ZfERIES Al%~D TO CHARGES FOR OPENING GP~VES. Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth~ Vir~inia~ Sections 6-16 and 6-19 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1951, be amended ~nd re-ordained to read as follows: that Sec. 6-I6. Prices for lots and spaces; care of lots and spaces. The lots or other spaces in all of the city cemeteries, including the perpetual upkeep therefor, hereafter sold in accordance with ordinances of the city, shall be sold according To the following schedule of prices: V~ole lots (12 graves) .............. $600.00 Whole lets (8 graves) ............... $400°00 Half lots (6 graves) ................ $300.00 Half lots (4 graves) ................ ~00.00 Single graves ....................... $ 50~O0 Baby graves ......................... $ 20.00 The city shall keep and maintain perpetually, in a neat and proper con- dition, each lot hereafter sold in the city cemeteries, and keep the same in good order, free from weeds and undergrowth, and properly turfed, and the monuments and stones upright, so long as the same continue intact, and the purchasers of such lots shall not be required to pay to the city any further sum for their upkeep. Sec. 6-19, Prices and charges for work done. The following schedule of prices is hereby established for work in the several cemeteries in the city: For op~n~ng graves 4 feet and under in length ...... ~20.00 For opening graves over 4 feet in ter~th .......... $40.00 For disinterring and reinterring bodies where grave is 4 feet and ~uder in length ................ $40.00 For disinterring and reinterring bodies where grave is over 4 feet in length ..................... $80.00 The above fees and charges shall be paid before the work is performed and a receipt shall be taken therefor~ Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Va., at a meeting held on October 13th~ 1959.
