AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ACQUISITIC~ OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY TARRA CORPORATIf~ NECESSARY FOR USE BY THE CITY FOR THE EXTENSION 0~ LANGLEY BOULEVARD, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 258 OF THE ACTS OF ASSEMBLY OF 1958, WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has found it to be necessary to extend Langley Bo%ii.card from its intersection with Tazewell Street'to the New Suffolk Boulevard (U. S. 58) ~nd is in the process of constructin~ the roadbed therefor~ and Wri~atFAS, the City of Portsmouth has not been able to purchas~ certain pro- perty necessary to this project after lengthy negotiations and advkneement of the work will be delayed unreasonably if the said property is not made available as soon as possible; NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Vir- ginia ~hat the City Attorney is directed mo institute eminent domain proceedings s~ainst the property hereinafter described, in accordance with and p~rsuant to Section 23-f of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth (Chapmer Z58 of the Acts of Assembly of 1958). and that the sum hereinafter specified with respect to such property be deposited to the credit of the cour~ as provided by law: The land to be acquired in fee simple, the owner thereof, the approximate area thereof, md thc.amount to be paid into court are as follows: That certain parcel of land situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (formerly Western Branch Magisterial District of Norfolk County, Virginia), more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point distant North 33© 05' 30" East, 634°39 feet from a concrete monument markip~ the Southeast corner of Washing- ton Heights, the Northeast corner of property of the City of Portsmouth. the Northernmost corner of property now or formerly of J. So Lawrence, et al and the Westernmost corner of land now or formerly of Foundation Boys Academy, Incorporated, said con- crete monument being located at coordinates North 176,474.83, E~st 2,623,511o33, on the Virginia State Coordinate System, Sonthern Zone, and from said point of beginning North 33° 05' 30" F~st 111o22 feet; thence North 82° 51' 56" West 110,71 feet; thence along a curve to the left, having a radius of 3,050.00 feet, ~n arc leith of 749.14 feet; thence along a curve to the left, hav- ing a radins of 1,611.37 feet, an arc length of 45.38 feet; thence Somth 62° 01' 20" East 146~63 feet; thence South 35° 27' 40" West 20.55 feet; thence on a curve to the right, having a radius of 2,950.O0 feet, an arc distance of 660.65 feet; and thence South 8~° 51' 56" East 62.03 feet to the point of beginning; being a strip of land 106 feet in ~ridth containin~ 1o$ acres, more or less, a~d being s~bst~ntially located as shown outlined in RED on the attached drawing dated May 5~ 1960, prepared by F.
