/LN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORTSb'DUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, ADOFTING A REVISION ~uND <br />CODIFICATION OF TUE ORDINPaNCES OF THE <br />CiTY OF PORTSMOUYH, VIRGINIA, ENTITLED <br />"TILE CODE OF THE CITY 0F PORTSMOUTH, <br />VIRGINIA, i961", PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL <br />OF CERTAIN ORDINANCES NOT INCLUDED THEREIN~ <br />WITH CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS, AND FOR OTHER <br />PURPOSES UEREINAFTEP SET OUT. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City <br />of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br /> <br /> Section 1. There is hereby adopted by the <br />Council of tile City of Portsmouth..~ Virginia, that <br />certain Code entitled '~The Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth~ VJrgH~a~ i~6!"~ containing certMn <br />ordinances of a ~enerat 8nd por~anent nature as <br />revised:~ compiled~ :onsolidated and codified in the <br />following cnapters~ nanely, Chapters 1 to 59, both <br />inclusive] two bound copies (f which are on file in <br />the office of t?~c Ci~'y Clerk. <br /> <br /> 5ecl.ion 2'. The provisio~s of such Code <br />shall be in force on and after Septeml>er I7~ 1962, <br /> <br />enacted on or prior n,~ Juno 27~ 1961~ and no~ contained <br />SeptemI)er i7~ 1962, except as hereinafter provided. <br /> <br /> Section 3. 'I'he ro~cf~l' provided for 2n the <br />proccdin~ section ~f this ordinance shall noz affect <br />any offense or act COiqFllttod OT done or any penalty or <br />forfeiZure incurred or any conzracr or right established <br />or accruing before September 17, 1962, nor shall it <br />affect any prosecutio;L~ suit or proceeding pending or <br />any judgment rendered on or ?riot to tho said September I7, <br />i962; nar shall such repeal affect 'my ordinance or <br />resolution F~2omisin!~ or guarantee=nc ~ne payment of money <br />by or for tho Cit~ or authorizing ~he issue of any bonds <br />of the City o~ any evidence of indeb=edness or any <br />contract or obligation assumed by the City: nor shall <br />such repeal affoct tlm administFative ordinances or <br /> <br /> <br />
