AN ORDINANC~ TO AMEND SECTION 30-164 OF %~HE CODE <br />OF THE CI2'Y OF PORTS~OUTIt, VIRGINIA, 1951, AS <br />AMEA~DED, CONCERNING PAIh~{ING METERS IN OFF-STREET <br />PARKING LOTS. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> Section 2~ That Section 30-164 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1951, as amended, be amended and reordained 5o <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 30-164. Parking Meters. <br /> Parking meters installed ~n off-street parking lots of <br />the City shall be placed or se~ in such manner as 5o show or display <br />by a signal that the space adjacen~ to such me,er is or ts nor legally <br />in use. The parking meters shall be installed and set to display upon <br />deposit oi the following sums of money, in coins of the United States or <br />the equivalent in tokens issued pursuant to regulations promulgated by <br />the Director of Finance. a signal indicating legal parking for the <br />following periods, and the parking space shall then be legally occupied <br />by the motor vehicle during such respective periods: <br /> <br />(a) In <br /> <br />Edinburgh Square Lot: <br />Sixty-six (66) spaces - five cents for a two <br />hour period, no space 5o be occupied by the <br />same motor vehicle for a greater continuous <br />period than four hours, <br /> <br />Proctor Square Lot: <br />Thirty-eight (38) spaces five cents for a <br />two hour period, no space to be occupied by <br />the same motor vehicle for a greater continuous <br />period than four hours° <br /> <br />Seventy (70) spaces - twenty-five cents for the <br />entire day or any portion thereof, <br /> <br />(c) In <br /> <br />Kirks Square Lot: <br />Sixty-two (62) spaces - five cents for a two <br />hour period, no space to be occupied by the <br />same motor vehicle for a greater continuous <br />period than four hours. <br /> <br />Forty (40) spaces - twenty-five cents for the <br />entire day, or any porsion thereof° <br /> <br />(d) In <br /> <br />Municipal Square Parking Lot: <br />Five cents for a one hour period° <br />for a Two hour period° <br /> <br />(e) In Dinwiddie Square Parking Lot: <br /> Ten cents for a two hour period. <br /> <br /> <br />
