TOES ~ <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth. <br />Virginia, that Section 101 of Article ii of the License Tax <br />Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1980, be amended and <br />reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section i01. Coin Machines and Coin Nachine Operators. <br /> <br /> (a) Every person Paving c~ e~hibiting anywhere in the City <br />of Portsmouth a coin machine or device of any description into <br />which are inserted coins of any denomination that operates on <br />the coin-in-the slot principle shall pay a license Tax for each <br />such machine or device, in the following respective amounts per <br /> <br /> (1) For each such machine which plays music only, $5°00, <br /> (2) For each such machine re§istering the weight of a <br /> ~erson, $5°00. <br /> For each such machine used for the cleaning and <br /> polishing of bowling halls, $5°00. <br /> (4) For each such machine used solely for the safe <br /> keeping of p~ckaEes, bags~ etc., for each compartment <br /> or separate receptacle, $0.50. <br /> For each such machine which plays music and shows <br /> motion pictures on!y, $10~00. <br />(8) For each such machine used for the washing and <br /> drying of clothes, where there is not a paid <br /> attendant on the premises s~ all Zimes, $10.00. <br /> For each such vending machine, dispensing merchandise <br /> only and having ~o amusemen~ device, in which coins <br /> of five cents or over ars deposited. $5o00~ and in <br /> ~nich one cent is deposited, $0.~0. <br />($) For each cozn-operated radio used in hotel or rooming <br /> house, $1.00. <br />(9) For each such machine of any other type or device, in <br /> which coins are deposited which m~y be allowed by the <br /> taws of this State~ excep~ pay telephones, $25°00. <br /> <br /> <br />
