AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A'NEW BUILDING CODE FOR TIlE CITY OF PORTSMOUTtl, t~)ttICII ?RESCRIBES PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF ITS PROVISIONS) AND REPEALING, WI~t CERTAIN LIMITATIONS AND ~.EXCEPTtONS, ALL ORDiN/%NCES AND PARTS OF ORDINP~NCES OF A GENERAL NATURE IN CONFLICT~ ~VI%~{ TItE PROVISIONS THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth: Section 1~ That all and singular the provisions relating to the construction, equipment, alteration, repair, removal and demolition of buildings and structures in the City of Portsmouth and fees there for and penalties for violations, set forth in the chapters and sections of the new Building Code for the City of Portsmouth, a copy of which is 'attached hereto, be and the same are hereby ordained as general ordinances of the City of Portsmouth and are hereby adopted as and shall constitute the "Building Code of %he City of Portsmouth, 1963." Section 2: - That the provisions of said Building Code shall be~in' force on and after June 30, 1963. Section 3:'~ That all ordinances and parts of ordinances of a general nature in conflict with the provisions of said Building Code are hereby repealed as of June 30, I963, but said repeal, howevcr, shall not affect any ac~ or offense done or committed~ or, any penalty, forfeiture or punishment incurred~ or any right accruing or accrued, or acquired or established before the da~ upon which the provisions of said Building Code take effect, ~r any prosecution, suit or proceeding penoing on that day° Section 4: - That nothing in said Building Code contained shall require any change in the plans, construction, alteration or repair of any building or structure for which a permi~ had been granted or for which plans were on file with the Department of Building Inspection prior to June $0, 1965) and the con- struction, alteration or repair ~f which building or structure from such within ninety days
