~N ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR ?HE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH UNDER Ei~LINENT DO~AIN PROCEEDINGS PURSULANT TO CF~APTER 258 OF THE ACTS OF ASSE~4BLY OF 1958, SAiD PROPERTY BEING NECESSARY FOR !~iPROV~NT OF A PORTION OF PORTSMOUTH BOULEVARD, ROUTE 337~ PARCEL 006. W~EREAS, the City of Portsmouth has found it to be necessary to widen and otherwise mmprove a portion of Portsmouth Boulevard, Route 337, under a Federal Urban Aid Program whereby it is the responsibility of the said City to acquire all necessary additional property; and WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has not been able to purchase certain property necessary 5o this project because the owner thereof and une City have not been able ~o agree upon the price to be paid therefor; and WHEREAS, advancement of the work will be delayed unreason- ably if the said property ms non made available as soon as possible. NOW~ THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virgznza, that the City Attorney is directed to institute emznen~ domain proceedings, employing counsel for that purpose, a~ainst the property hereinafter described, mn accordance with and pursuann to Section 23-i of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth (Chapter 258 of the Acts of Assemb%y of 1958)~ and that the sum of $1,128.80 be deposited to the credit of the court as provided by law no com- pensate the owner thereof: (a) The owner of record is as follows: ~. M. Watts. (b) The interesn no be acquired is the fee simple estate zn and to the property hereinafter described as Parcel 006. (c) ~ne approximate area of Parcel 006 is square feet. (d) The description of the property is as follows: That certamn parcel of land situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia~ more particularly described as fcllows: Parcel 006 the Beginning at a point on the north side of Portsmouth Boulevard (formerly known as Old Suffolk Highway) where land of i.
