AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND S~CTION 101 OF ARTICLE II OF THE LICENSE TAX ORDINANCE OF THE CIT~ OF PORTSMOUTH, 1960, SO AS TO IMPOSE '~'A LICENSE TAX' ON BOWLING ~LL CLEANING MACHINES AND COIN MACHINE OPEP~TORS. Be it ordained by the Council of the City 0f Portsmouth, Virginia, that Section 101 of Article II-of the License Tax · Ordinance of the City of Portsmouth, 1960, be amended and ~. reordained to rea~ as follows: Section 10L. Coin ~achines and Coin Machine Operators. (a) Every person having ~ exhibiting anywhere in the City of Portsmouth a coin machine or deVice of any description into which are inserted coins of any denomination that operates on the coin-in-the slot principle shall pay a license tax for each ~such machine or device, in the following resPective amounts per j (4) (1) For each such machine which plays music only, $I0.00, (2) For each such machine registering the weight of a person, $5.00. For each such machine used for the cleaning and polishing of bowling halls, $5°00; For each such machine used solely for the safe keeping of packages, bags~ etco, for each compartment or separate receptacle, $0.50. For each such'machine which plays music and shows motion pictures only, $10~00o~ (6) For each such machine used for the washing and drying of clothes, where there is not s paid · attendant on ~he premises at all times. $10.00. ~,(7)~ For each such vending machine, dispensing merchandise only and having no amusement device: in which coins of ~lve cents or over are deposited, $5o00~ and in which one cent is deposited, $0.50.
