AN ORDINANCE TO CLOSE A PORTION OF BAUGH'S ROAD <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line Railroad Company, <br />Norfolk Veneer Mills, Inc., and Virginia Electric and Power Company have <br />made application to vacate, close and discontinue the hereinafter described <br />street; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council, adopted April 28, 1964, <br />viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15-766 of the Code of Virginia, <br />1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter described street, and to report <br />in writing whether in their opinion, any, and if any, what inconvenience <br />would result from discontinuing the hereinafter described street; and <br /> <br /> I~HEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in <br />their opinion no inconvenience would result from closing and discontinuing <br />said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEPd~FORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of Baugh's Road beginning at a point <br />1,027 feet West of the Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line Bridge west abutment <br />to a point 1,429 feet West of the same abutment be, and the same is hereby <br />closed and vacated as a public street, reserving unto the City of Portsmouth, <br />however, the perpetual easement, right and privilege to maintain, operate and <br />replace all. public utility lines now situate within the area so .closed and <br />vacated. <br /> <br /> Adoptedb¥ the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a <br />meeting held F{ay 26, 1964. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
