(d) <br /> <br />Demolitions. <br />For the demolition of any building or structure, the fee shall <br />be $4.00, provided the building or structure is located more <br />than 10 feet from the street line. When such building or <br />structure is located less than 10 feet from the street line, <br />the fee shall be $8.00. <br /> <br />Signs. <br />(1) Fees for the erection, painting, placing, replacing, hanging, <br /> and rehanging of signs not ~therwise specified in this section <br /> shall be as follows: <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />(S) <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br /> Under 25 §quare~feet ........................ $ 4.00 <br /> 25 to 49 square feet ........................ 6.00 <br /> 50 to 74 square feet ........................ 8.00 <br /> 75 to 99 square feet ........................ 10.00 <br /> 100 to 299 square feet ...................... 20.00 <br /> 300 square .feet and over .................... 25.00 <br /> <br />The fee for signs on the roofs of buildings shall be $20.00 <br />for each sign so erected. <br /> <br />The fee for the repair of each billboard shal~'~e $5.00. <br /> <br />The fee for repaintlng a duly authorized sign in place when <br />the sign will not be changed shall be $1.00. <br /> <br />Exemption from fees, <br />No fees shall be collected when the permits are for buildings or <br />structures belonging to the City of Portsmouth, Commonwealth of <br />Virginia, or the ~nited States of America. <br /> <br /> This ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public health, <br />morals and safety, an emergency is declared to exist and it shall be effective <br />from and after its passage. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting <br />held April 28, 1964. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />-5 - <br /> <br /> <br />
