AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 6-1 OF THE CODE OF T~E CIT~ <br />OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1961, TO PERNIT THE BURIAL OF <br />THE R]~AINS OF ANY PERSON IN OLIVE BRANCH ANNEX. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmoath, Virginia, that Section 6-1 of the Code of <br />the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1961, be amended and <br />reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 6-1. <br /> <br />Prohibiting burials except <br />in cemeteries; establishment <br />and enlargement of cemeteries. <br /> <br /> No person shall bury or cause to be <br />buried, without permission of the director <br />of public health, the remains of any person <br />in any private lot, or at any place within <br />the city except in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Oak <br />Grove Cemetery, Olive Branch Cemetery, Olive <br />Branch Annex Cemetery, Lincoln Memorial Park, <br />Saint Paul Cemetery, Evergreen Memorial Park, <br />and the cemeteries on Paradise Creek belonging <br />to the congregations of Gomley Chessd Synagogue <br />and Chevra Thilim Synagogue. No cemetery shall <br />hereafter be established or enlarged in the <br />city. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City o~ Portsmouth <br />Virginia, at a meeting held September 8, 1964. <br /> <br />Tests: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
