AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND EULE 81 OF THE RULES AND REGULATIf~IS FOR <br />THE ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORC~ENT OF THE PROVISIONS OF THE CITY <br />OF I~ORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, RETAIL 8ALES AND USE TAX ORDINANCE <br />PERTAINING TO CREDIT SALES. <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />that Rule 81 of the Rules and Regulations for the administration and <br />enforcement of The City of Portsmouth, Virginia, Retail Sales and Use Tax <br />0rdixlance, be amended and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br />RULE 81: Credit Sales <br /> <br /> Tax shall be computed and report and remittance made <br />monthly on credit sales made during the reporting period <br />whether said sales are made on open charge accounts, condi- <br />%ionai sales or otherwise. <br /> <br /> Credit sales made and collections effected during the <br />reporting period shall be reported as cash sales. <br /> <br /> This ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public <br />health, morale and safety, an emergency is declared to exist and it shall <br />take effect from and after June 1, 1965o <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of l~ortsmouth, Virginia, at a <br />meeting held May 25, 1965. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
