AN ORDI3~ANCE TO CLOSE PORTIONS OF ATLANTA AVENUE, CAMDEN AVENUE, C~ARLESTGN AVENUE, CHESTNbT STH~I', CLIFFORD STF~/~T, GF~9~N STF~i~I', GRiFFtN SI'~E~T, LANSING AVENUE, LAUEEL AVENUE, MAPLE AVENUE, PAREER AVENUE, PRENTIS AVENUE, RACE STr~, AND RIC~4OND AVENUE. Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the following portions of streets be, and the same are hereby closed and vacated as public s. treets reserving unto the City of Portsmouth, its successors and assigns; however, the perpetual easement, right and privilege to construct, operate, maintain, and replace any and all public utility lines within the areas of the streets so closed and vacated: 1. ATLANTA AV~JE - from the southern boundary of South Street to the northern boundary of Race Street. 2. CAMDEN AVENUE - from the southern boundary of South Street to the northern boundary of Race Street. 3. CHARLESTON AVENUE - from the southern boundary of South Street to a point 245 feet south thereof. 4. CHES%~J-f S'I'F~T - frc~ the northern boundary of Griffin Street to the northern boundary of Scott Street. CLIFFORD STn%~l' - from a Doint 165 feet east of the eastern boundary of Chestnut Street to the western boundary of Effingham Street and from a point 210 feet east of the pastern boundary of Effingham Street to the western boundary bf Washington Street. G~ ST~Y~T - from a point 135 feet south of the southern boundal~ of Bart Street to a point 40 feet north of the northern boundary of Race Street. GRIFF~ ST~'I'.- from the western boundary of Chestnut Street to a point 140 feet west of the west side of Washington Street. 8. LANSING AVENUE - from the southern boundary of South Street to a point 235 feet south thereof. LAUREL AVENUE - from the southern boundary of Race Street to a point 150 feet south thereof. ~PLE AVENUE - from the southern boundary of the right-of-way of the Seaboard Airline Railroad Co~oany to a point 264 feet south thereof.
