contractor or person who shall act as superintendent who has paid the <br />license tax and given the bond required by law, shall pay a license tax <br />as provided for general contractors, upon his gross receipts or equiva- <br />lent value of construction, for all such buildings so,~constructed except <br />the first $10,000 of gross receipts or equivalent value in any one <br />license tax year. No license required under this section shall be trans- <br />ferred or prorated. <br /> <br />Section 27. Obstructing SideWalks, etc~: <br /> <br /> Nothing contained in this ordinance shall be construed as <br />giving the right to any person to obstruct sidewalks, streets, or other <br />public places or to commit or maintain a nuisance. <br /> <br />Section 28. License to Designate Place of Business: <br /> <br /> Every license issued by the Commissioner of the Revenue unless <br />.expressly authorized elsewhere or otherwise, shall designate the place of <br />such business, employment or profession as some definite place within the <br />city. Any person e~ercising such license, or engaging in such business, <br />employment or profession elsewhere than at such definite place, unless ex- <br />pressly authorized elsewhere or otherwise, shall be held to be without <br />a license. <br /> <br />Section 29. Records Relating to Solicitors of Laundry, Cleaning, <br /> Dyeing and Pressing Work: <br /> <br /> Every person engaged in the business of doing laundry or <br />cleaning, dyeing and pressing work, whose plant where such work is done <br />is located in the City of Portsmouth, and who has one or more solicitors <br />for such work who are not among his regular employees as determined by <br />his social security records, shall keep an accurate record showing the <br />names and addresses of such solicitors, the gross amount of such work <br />received from each such solicitor, and the amount of discounts allowed <br />each such solicitor. <br /> <br /> Any person failing or refusing to keep such records shall, <br />upon conviction thereof, be fined not less titan $25 nor more than $100.00. <br /> <br />Section 30. License Inspectors: <br /> <br /> The Commissioner of the Revenue is instructed and authorized <br />to employ a License Inspector and such assistan~license inspectors, <br />as may be provided for by Council. <br /> <br /> <br />
