:. tag.or sign in a convenient place; and, whenever required to do so, <br /> exhibit the sa~e to any member of the Police Department when <br /> authorized to inspect such license or to the License Inspector. Any <br /> violating the provisions of this section~ or any person failing <br /> to properly display any license, tag or grower's sign required under <br /> ordinance to be displayed in a particular way, shall be guilt~ of <br /> misdemeanor and fined not to exceed $25.00. <br /> <br />~Section 17. Transfer of License: <br /> <br /> Licenses issued under this ordinance shall be transferable, <br /> except where otherwise provided; but in no case shall ~ny transfer of <br /> the license be legal or valid unless and until notice in writing of such <br /> transfer shall have been given to the Commissioner of the Revenue, and <br /> he shall have approved said transfer in writing on the said license; and <br /> said notice shall state the time of the transfer and the place of the. <br /> business and the name of the person to whom transferred, nor shall the ~ <br /> transfer of said license be valid or effective until the service change <br /> of $1.00 has been paid by the licensee and receipt of such payment shall <br /> be shown on the certificate of transfer. <br /> <br /> Only that part of a license based on gross receipts, as defined <br />:' in Section 21, that is in excess of gross receipts of transferor for <br /> that of the year he has prosecuted business under such license <br /> be transferrable. The person to whom such license is being trans- ~ <br /> ferred shall pay the additional estimated license to the end of the <br /> license year, or an amount sufficient to make the minimum cost of lice~se <br /> as provided in thii ordinance, whichever is the greater. <br /> <br /> The Commissioner of the Revenue shall keep a record of such <br />transfers and shall submit a notice of each such transfer to the <br />License Inspector. Any person transferring or attempting to transfer <br />any license contrary to the provisions of this section shal! be fined <br />not less than $10.00 nor more than $50.00. <br /> <br />Section 15. Rules of Construction and Collection of License Taxes: <br /> <br /> As to all questions in regard to the duty and conduct of <br />officers of the city in collecting and enforcing the taxes herein im- <br />posed, and in regard to questions of construction, and for definitions <br />of terms used in this ordinance, and the r~lles and.regulations applicable <br />to putting the same in operation, reference is hereby made to Title <br />Code of. Virginia, 19S0, as amended, pertaining to the assessment, levy <br />and collection Of. taxes for the currentyear, or to so much thereof as <br />zs applicable to this ordinance and is not inconsistent with it and the <br />gener~l ordinances of the city; and for the conduct and guidance of t <br />offzcers of the c~ty and.other part,es affected th~s ordinance, <br />~or fixing their powers~ rithts, duties ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
