AN ORD~X~ANCE TO CLOSE A POTION OF DETROIT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Norfolk and Portamouth Be~t Line Railroad Ccrapany, <br />Wes-Lee Real.Estate Corporation, J. L. Smith Corporation, Sharon-Dee <br />Bakirg Company, Inc., and James E. Wall and Rosa Lee Wall, husband <br />and wife, have made application to vacate, close and discontinue the <br />hereinafter described Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by resolution of this Council, adopted August 9, <br />1966, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364 of the Code <br />of Virginia, 1950, as &~ended, to view the hereinafter described <br />street, and to report in ~iti~g whether in their opir~ion, any, and <br />if any, what inconvenience would result f~mu discontinuing the herein- <br />after described street; and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS~ the said viewers have reported in writing that in <br />their opinion ao inconvenience would result frmm closing and discon- <br />tinuing said street. <br /> <br /> NOW, ~HE~EFORE, BE IT ORDAIk~iD by the Council of the City <br />of P~rtsmouth, Virginia, that that portion of Detroit Street lying <br />between the eastern right of way line of Virginia Avenue and the <br />western right of way line of Lee Avenue be, and the same is hereby <br />closed and vacated as a public street, reserviog unto the City of <br />Portsmouth, however, the perpetual easament, right and privilege ~o <br />maintain, operate and replace all public utility lines now situate <br />within the area so closed and vacated. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Port~uouth, Virginia, <br /> at a meeting held September t~, 1966. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
