Section 5. The City Auditor is hereby authorized to transfer funds for the <br />purpose of equalization, fram ~ny fund in one authorized bank to the s~ne fund in <br />another authorized bar~% provided the trsnsfer check is comntersigned by the City <br />Treasurer. <br /> <br /> Section 4. Monies paid ~o the retired school teachers shall be temed as <br />gratuity and only as a Temporary measure. If the State of Virginia takes over this <br />responsibility, this gratuity will cease. <br /> <br /> Section 5. To the extent that ar%v monies in the accounts of the School <br />Board derived from sources other than the State of Virginia are unexpended at the <br />end of the fiscal year 1965-1966 and thus became available for use the next fiscal <br />year, the City's snare of the appropriation made for education and scholarships <br />for the next ensuing fiscal year shall be decreased in a like amount. <br /> <br /> Section 6. An emergency exists and this ordinance shall take effect <br />July 1, 1966. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting <br />held June 28, 1966. <br /> <br />Teste: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
