(d) There will he no charge for water used <br />to extinguish a fire or for sprinkler heads, nor <br />ready to serve charge for bypass me~er. <br /> <br /> (e) The use of water from such connection <br />for any purpose, except through'the sprinkler sy.stem <br />to extinguish a fire, the attachmSnt tO the servibe <br />pipe of any connection or fixture, e.xcept the usual <br />sprinkler control valves and heads ~al~ operate to <br />render void the contract for the' connection, and the <br />water will be shut off at the n~n by the w~ter <br />department. <br /> <br /> (f) For a supply' of water for private fire <br />hydrants or hose connections, or bot.h, withor with- <br />out a sprinkler system, such connection shali be <br />supplied through a fire protection meter to register <br />all water used, the' size of connection, and tYPe 6f <br />meter to be determined by the director of public <br />utilities. <br /> <br /> (g) For fire protection meter, gate and check <br />valves, connection with the city main and service <br />pipe from the main to the meter will be installed by <br />the water department and paid for in advance by the <br />owner of property to be protected. There shall be <br />no ready to serve charge or minimum applied to meters <br />used exclusively for fire protection services~ nor <br />any charge for water used through such meters to <br />extinguish a fire. Water registered by such meters, <br />not used to extinguish a fire, will be paid for at <br />schedule rates. <br /> <br />2. That Section. 37A-45 of the Cede of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, 1961, be, and the Same ~reby <br />is, repealed. <br /> <br />3.
